Ellenberger: Insurance Shows the UFC Cares

Jake Ellenberger (Pictured), on “The Savage Dog Show,” discussing the UFC’s new insurance policies for fighters:

“It’s huge. It’s absolutely huge. I was surprised. I was like, ‘Wow, this is a big step forward.’ Not only for the UFC. I think it’s really showing people the UFC cares about their fighters. It’s a huge weight lifted off everyone under contract. It’s lifted a huge weight off their shoulders so they don’t have to worry about, ‘If I get hurt, I have to pay these crazy medical bills.’ I’ve gone through this and I’m still relatively young, but I’ve gone through a lot of medical bills. It’s huge. It’s so big. It’s really good news. I think everyone is really happy about this. It just reinforces that the UFC is really looking after their guys. It’s the top organization.”
