King of the Cage Returns to California with Three Title Fights for 'Golden Era'
Three championships will be on the line when mixed martial arts
promotion King of
the Cage returns to Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario,
California, on June 22. Airing live on MAVTV, the King of the Cage
event dubbed "Golden Era" will feature eight mixed martial arts
bouts.
Occupying the main event slot in a flyweight title match will be Johnny "Kid Kvenbo" Munoz Jr. versus Drako "The Great Drakolini" Rodriguez. Munoz (8-0) looks to walk away with not the only the flyweight KOTC belt, but also with his undefeated record intact. Hailing from Sioux City, Iowa, "The Great Drakolini" has gone 5-1 in his professional MMA career.
A middleweight championship fight between two Californians will
hold court as the co-main event of "Golden Era." San Diego's
Matt
Lagler will face Rancho Cucamonga's David Gomez.
Both fighters are seasoned veterans with Lagler holding the
knockout power advantage.
Two more California natives will enter the cage in the second co-main event match, this time challenging for the KOTC welterweight championship. San Pedro's Travis Williams (2-2) will glove-up against Upland's Edson Gomez (4-1).
Closing out the featured portion of the night will be a bantamweight clash between 3-0-1 Anthony Jimenez and 2-1 Albert Veloz. Jimenez and Veloz also hail from "The Golden State."
Rounding out KOTC's "Golden Era" night of fights will be:

Andrew Lazo vs. Aaron Williams
Jay Pinto vs. Richie Palomino
Kevin Villareal vs. Roberto Hernandez
