Rick
Story, on “The Savage Dog
Show,” discussing how he’s handling his five straight wins in
the UFC:
“I’m taking it one fight at a time. I’m not letting these wins get to my head. I’m staying well rooted in pursuit of my goal of being a world champion. I’m not getting caught up in lifestyles that you see a lot of guys do when they start getting a bunch of wins in the UFC. They come on strong and then all of a sudden it’s like the next time you see them, they seem like they’re faded a little in their focus. I don’t want to make the same mistake as what I’ve seen. … I’m trying to push forward and train harder and harder to get to that No. 1 spot.”
On whether he’s ready for a top-10 opponent:
“I know I am. I know I’m ready. There’s a bunch of people out there that probably don’t think that I belong up there, but I know that I’m ready and I’ve trained with top-level guys and I hold my own if not do better. I know I belong up there and I’m ready.”
