“The Ultimate Fighter 12” episode eight earned an average of
1.6 million viewers, a significant drop from last week's 1.9
million who tuned in to watch Team GSP battle Team Koscheck.
The episode scored a household rating of 1.2, also a decrease from episode seven's 1.3. The male 18-49 and 18-34 demographics also took a hit, as the former category scored a 1.7 rating and the latter a 1.84, compared to last week's ratings of 1.84 and 2.2, respectively. As is typical, the episode netted its greatest viewership during the final quarter hour of broadcast, earning a 1.26 for the last 15 minutes.
This week's episode featured two fights, though one of them did not take place inside the Octagon, as Coach Koscheck and Team GSP medic Brad Tate got into a physical altercation before being separated by Dane Sayers. In the contest to decide the wild card contender, Aaron Wilkinson took on Marc Stevens. After dominating round one, Stevens made the mistake of leaving his neck unprotected, allowing Wilkinson to lock up a guillotine choke and secure the victory. Stevens has lost both of his fights in the “TUF” house via the guillotine. Next week will pit Team GSP's number one pick Michael Johnson against Alex “Bruce Leroy” Caceres in the first quarterfinal matchup.
