Darko Stosic and Michal Martinek are stuck in the traffic jam that has formed behind longstanding KSW heavyweight champion Philip De Fries, meaning their confrontation takes on added importance.
The two contenders will lock horns in the KSW 87 headliner on Saturday at Werk Arena in Trinec, Czech Republic, as they seek to provide some clarity for a top-heavy division. Stosic enters the cage with victories in five of his past seven outings. The MMA Red Star rep last fought at KSW 84, where he punched out Stefan Vojcak in the third round of their July 15 encounter. Martinek, meanwhile, has alternated wins and losses in each of his last seven assignments. The Reinders MMA product has not competed since Oct. 14, when he wound up on the wrong side of split scorecards against Daniel Omielanczuk at KSW 75.
