By The Numbers: Derrick Lewis vs. Sergei Pavlovich
The lights seem destined to go out on someone—a common occurrence in the volatile Ultimate Fighting Championship heavyweight division.
Game-changing punching power will be on the menu when Derrick Lewis meets Sergei Pavlovich in a featured UFC 277 attraction on Saturday at the American Airlines Center in Dallas. The two behemoths have combined for 20 first-round knockouts. Lewis has followed a four-fight winning streak by losing two of his past three bouts. He last appeared at UFC 271, where he was short-circuited by a Tai Tuivasa elbow strike in the second round of their Feb. 12 encounter. Pavlovich, meanwhile, enters the cage with the wind of a three-fight winning streak in his sails. He last competed on March 19, when he dispatched Shamil Abdurakhimov with punches in the first round of their UFC Fight Night 204 pairing.
