Any discussion regarding the greatest mixed martial artists of all-time invariably includes former two-division Ultimate Fighting Championship titleholder Georges St. Pierre.

More than two years after he announced his retirement, St. Pierre remains one of the sport’s most revered figures. “Rush” completed his career with a 26-2 record—he avenged the only two defeats on his resume in decisive fashion—that included victories over the vast majority of his contemporaries. St. Pierre made his final appearance inside the Octagon at UFC 217 on Nov. 4, 2017, when he choked Michael Bisping unconscious, captured the undisputed middleweight title and became a rare two-division champion. The Tristar Gym representative was a 2020 inductee into the modern wing of the UFC Hall of Fame.

As St. Pierre’s exploits in the cage drift further into legend, a look at some of the numbers that accompanied him throughout his stellar career:

40: Years of age for St. Pierre, who was born on May 19, 1981 in Saint-Isidore, Quebec—some 25 miles southwest of Montreal.

8: St. Pierre victories by knockout or technical knockout, accounting for 31% of his career total (26). His list of UFC victims: B.J. Penn, Matt Serra, Matt Hughes, Sean Sherk and Jay Hieron. St. Pierre owns six other victories by submission and 12 more by decision.

5: Fighters in UFC history, including St. Pierre, who have compiled more than two hours of control time in the UFC. He ranks first on the promotion’s all-time list at 2:42:04, ahead of Demian Maia (2:35:20), Clay Guida (2:23:11), Jon Fitch (2:08:26) and Randy Couture (2:06:42).

2,523: Total strikes landed by St. Pierre as a UFC welterweight, easily more than any other competitor in the history of the 170-pound weight class. Fitch (2,039), Neil Magny (2,020), Kamaru Usman (1,909) and Carlos Condit (1,787) round out the Top 5 in the category.

2: Countries in which St. Pierre competed as a mixed martial artist. He went 15-2 in the United States and a perfect 11-0 in his native Canada.

2,204: Days spent by St. Pierre as undisputed UFC welterweight champion. He held the title from Nov. 18, 2006 to April 7, 2007 and again from April 19, 2008 to Dec. 13, 2013. Only four other fighters have reigned over a division for at least 2,000 days: Anderson Silva (2,457), Demetrious Johnson (2,142), Jon Jones (2,098) and Jose Aldo (2,037).

4: UFC appearances in which St. Pierre connected on at least 100 significant strikes. He landed 131 of them in a unanimous decision over Fitch at UFC 87, 110 of them in a unanimous decision over Josh Koscheck at UFC 124, 105 of them in a unanimous decision over Nick Diaz at UFC 158 and 101 of them in a split decision over Johny Hendricks at UFC 167.

7: Post-fight bonuses banked by St. Pierre across his 23 outings in the UFC. He was awarded “Fight of the Night” on four occasions, “Knockout of the Night” once, “Submission of the Night” once and “Performance of the Night” once, resulting in more than $400,000 of additional income.

308: Combined victories between the 12 men—Koscheck (twice), Hughes, Serra, Fitch, Penn, Condit, Diaz, Hendricks, Bisping, Thiago Alves, Dan Hardy and Jake Shields—St. Pierre defeated during his current 13-fight winning streak. They boast a cumulative record of 308-125-5 (.703).

0: Decisions lost by St. Pierre. He owns a 12-0 record in fights that reach the judges. Ten of the 12 were of the unanimous variety. The lone exceptions? Split verdicts against Penn at UFC 58 and Hendricks at UFC 167.
