By The Numbers: Israel Adesanya

Israel Adesanya put his personal boogeyman to bed and once again rules the Ultimate Fighting Championship middleweight division.

“The Last Stylebender” reclaimed undisputed gold at 185 pounds, avenged three previous defeats to Alex Pereira—two in kickboxing, one in MMA—and punched out his Brazilian rival in the second round of their UFC 287 main event on April 8 at the Kasey Center in Miami. Pereira met his end 4:21 into Round 2. The result made Adesanya the first two-time middleweight champion in UFC history. His overall record now sits at a remarkable 24-2.

As Adesanya awaits word on his next assignment from UFC matchmakers, a look at some of the numbers that have accompanied him to this point:

33: Years of age for Adesanya, who was born on July 22, 1989 in Lagos, Nigeria—more than 10,000 miles from where he now trains at City Kickboxing in New Zealand.
