It wasn’t the most memorable performance, but Jan Blachowicz vanquished yet another converted middleweight on Saturday night.

71: Significant strikes landed by Blachowicz. By comparison, Souza landed 20. The Pole outlanded his foe 8 to 2 in round one, 15 to 9 in round two, 16 to 7 in round three, 17 to 1 in round four and 15 to 1 in round five. Blachowicz also held a 105-to-56 advantage in total strikes landed.
38: Significant head strikes for Blachowicz. The Pole also landed
13 significant strikes to the body, 20 to the legs and 12 in the
clinch. Souza’s breakdown is as follows: eight to the head, three
to the body, nine to the legs and two in the clinch.
170: Significant strikes attempted by Blachowicz, an output that was nearly four times greater than the 48 thrown by “Jacare” during the 25-minute affair.
0: Takedowns landed in five attempts for Souza. The Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt secured nearly nine minutes of control in the clinch, but was unable to drag his Polish foe to the canvas. Despite all that control time, Souza landed only two significant strikes in the clinch.
31: Significant strikes landed by Paul Craig in the first round of his co-headlining clash with Mauricio Rua. “Shogun,” meanwhile, landed just seven in the frame, prompting one judge to give the Scotland native a 10-8 scorecard. Overall, Craig outlanded Rua 51 to 25 in significant strikes and 106 to 51 in total strikes in a bout that ended in a split draw.
6: Consecutive finishes in UFC competition for Charles Oliveira, who defeated Jared Gordon by first-round knockout in a featured lightweight bout. “Do Bronx” passed Marlon Vera and moved into sole possession of first place for the longest active finishing streak in the promotion.
15: Total finishes for Oliveira in the Octagon, the second-most in UFC history behind only Donald Cerrone. Vitor Belfort and Anderson Silva are tied for third with 14 apiece.
3: Knockdowns landed by James Krause in a third-round stoppage of Sergio Moraes at welterweight. Those are the first three knockdowns for Krause in his 11-bout UFC tenure.
102: Significant strikes landed by Krause. By comparison, Moraes landed just 41.
144: Combined significant strike advantage for Moraes’ last three UFC opponents: Krause, Warlley Alves and Anthony Rocco Martin. Not surprisingly, Moraes is currently on a three-bout skid.
7: Career first-round finishes for Ricardo Ramos, who tapped out Luiz Eduardo Garagorri with a rear-naked choke in the opening stanza in a bantamweight clash. Ramos, who is only 24 years old, improved to 5-1 in the UFC with his latest victory.
12: UFC victories in Brazil for Francisco Trinaldo, the most in the history of the Las Vegas-based promotion ahead of Vitor Belfort and Iuri Alcantara, who both have seven. Trinaldo outpointed Bobby Green in a preliminary lightweight bout in Sao Paulo. Trinaldo’s 15 Octagon appearances in Brazil are also the most in promotion history.
53: Combined significant strike advantage for Bobby Green in his last two UFC appearances -- decision defeats to Trinaldo and Drakkar Klose. Green outlanded Trinaldo 50 to 31 and held a 92-to-58 advantage over Klose.
1: Submission defeat in 17 career bouts for Warlley Alves, who tapped out for the first time to Randy Brown via a triangle choke at the 1:22 mark of the second frame of their welterweight clash.
5: Consecutive defeats for ex-bantamweight king Renan Barao, tying him with Andrei Arlovski and Rashad Evans for the second-longest losing streak ever by a former UFC champion. B.J. Penn holds the top spot with a seven-bout skid. Barao dropped a unanimous verdict to Douglas Silva de Andrade in a preliminary contest on Saturday.
