Mir Breaks Down Big Win Over Kongo

Mir shocked everyone but himself when he decked Cheick Kongo
with a blistering left hand early in the first round of their
heavyweight tilt.
Mir, who choked Kongo unconscious with a guillotine after planting him, credited his concerted effort to improve his striking as the key to his flashy knockdown.
The former UFC champion also discussed the marked weight gain he has undergone since his one-sided loss to Brock Lesnar last summer. This isn’t the first time Mir has packed on the pounds, but as he told Sherdog.com, this time he has gone about it the right way.
He also discusses potential matchups for the heavyweight division’s top guys: Cain Velasquez, Shane Carwin, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and, of course, himself in the wake of Lesnar’s illness.
