Darren Till-Stephen Thompson Finally Made Official as UFC Fight Night 130 Headliner in Liverpool
After much speculation, the UFC’s debut in Liverpool finally has its main event.
The Ultimate Fighting Championship formally announced Thursday that UFC Fight Night 130 will be headlined by unbeaten local Darren Till and former two-time UFC title challenger Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson. The bout was made official after it was initially reported last week.

Till, 25, has racked up a 16-0-1 record over his five year pro career. The Scouser has stayed unbeaten through five UFC bouts, most recently drubbing former lightweight title challenger “Cowboy” Donald Cerrone in the UFC Fight Night 118 headline from Gdansk, Poland, last October.
The 35-year-old Thompson rattled off seven straight wins over a three-year stretch in the Octagon in order to earn a crack at UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley. After fighting to a contentious draw at UFC 205 in November 2016, the karate specialist rematched “The Chosen One” at UFC 209 year ago, but was defeated by unanimous decision. Last November, Thompson got back into the win column with a thorough and stylish unanimous decision victory over Jorge Masvidal.
