In the welterweight division, Nabiyev is 5-2 in Glory and looks to make a statement with a rebound following his loss to Cedric Dombue. Jones has a fantastic record in Glory at 5-1 and is looking for a shot at the title with a win over Nabiyev.
Koprivlenski, who is the No. 5 ranked lightweight, is an even 4-4 in Glory with his last loss coming to Josh Jauncey. Gazani is a perfect 3-0 in Glory coming out on top of two close split decisions.
2-1 Bayrak is looking for redemption after his last loss to Alex Pereira, who has departed Glory for the UFC. He has a win over now-champion Donovan Wisse. Penaz, on the other hand, looks to make a splash and earn a title shot and a rematch with Wisse, who defeated him at Glory 64.
Glory staple Michael Duut is 6-9 with the promotion and looking to snap a string of three straight losses. King is new to the promotion compared to Duut. His 1-2 record in Glory has him coming off a 10-second knockout of Tom Matlon at Glory 72.
Glory 79, titled “Collision 3,” takes place on Oct. 23 at GelreDome in Arnhem, Netherlands. The event is headlined by MMA veteran and former K-1 World Grand Prix champion Alistair Overeem, who returns to kickboxing and challenges Rico Verhoeven for the Glory heavyweight title. Tickets go on sale Sept. 14.
