Holly Holm will make her highly-anticipated UFC debut against Raquel Pennington at UFC 181 on Dec. 6.
The Las Vegas-based promotion announced the women’s bantamweight matchup on Thursday evening. UFC 181 takes place at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas and is headlined by a welterweight title bout between Johny Hendricks and Robbie Lawler. The card also includes a 155-pound title tilt between Anthony Pettis and Gilbert Melendez.
A former boxing world champion, Holm is unbeaten in seven mixed martial arts appearances. The Jackson-Wink MMA product has finished all but one of her victims by knockout or technical knockout. Holm last competed at Legacy FC 30, scoring a fifth-round TKO triumph over Juliana Werner in a 135-pound title bout.
Pennington, who was part of “The Ultimate Fighter 18” cast, is 1-1 in the Octagon. She debuted with a unanimous decision victory over Roxanne Modafferi at the “TUF 18” finale before dropping a split verdict against Jessica Andrade at UFC 171 in March.
