A bantamweight showdown between Iuri Alcantara and Frankie Saenz has been added to the UFC’s Feb. 22 Fight Night event.
The promotion’s Brazilian branch announced the pairing on Tuesday. UFC Fight Night "Evans vs. Teixeira" takes place at the Gigantinho Gymnasium in Porto Alegre Brazil and features a light heavyweight clash pitting Rashad Evans against Glover Teixeira.
Alcantara went 3-0 in the Octagon in 2014, besting Wilson Reis, Vaughan Lee and Russell Doane over the course of the past year. “Marajo” is 5-2 -- along with one no contest -- in the Las Vegas-based promotion overall.
Saenz, meanwhile, debuted at UFC Fight Night “Bader vs. St. Preux,” taking a unanimous verdict over Nolan Ticman on Aug. 16. The 34-year-old Phoenix native carries a five-fight winning streak into his meeting with Alcantara.
