Cage Rage promoters Andy Geer and Dave O'Donnell have been busy
little bunnies. In between sorting out some world class fights for
Cage Rage 12 on July 2, the hyperactive cockney pair have managed
to secure a third television deal for the fast-rising UK
promotion.
Cage Rage already enjoys coverage on Sky Sports 1, where a one-hour highlight slot showcases their events within a week of their live date. A second TV show, Cage Combat, is available on Reality TV. This is a repeat of the old series that hardcore UK MMA fans may have already seen on terrestrial television, with featured fighters such as Jeremy "Bad Boy" Bailey and Alex "Reidernator" Reid.
The new Cage Rage show will feature on the Men and Motors channel. The first of the new 15 part series will air tomorrow, May 11, at 10 p.m. The show will then air every Wednesday at the same time, and every Friday starting May 13, also at 10 p.m.
According to Cage Rage co-promoter Andy Geer, "the first episode gives an insight into MMA ... the next 15 weeks feature some of the best Cage Rage fights from the last year." Men and Motors adds that "each program will include in-depth interviews with the fighters and their trainers, a glimpse at their training sessions and their weigh-ins." The show will be hosted by Sarah Cawood.
According to Geer, "other ITV channels are bidding to buy [the show] at the moment and a second series has been commissioned."
