UFC 201 Salaries: Robbie Lawler Takes Top Purse With $500,000 in Title Defeat
Robbie Lawler didn't leave Atlanta with the UFC welterweight title, but he did leave with the biggest purse at UFC 201.
The 34-year-old was knocked out in the first round by challenger Tyron Woodley in his third third defense of his 170-pound crown. However, “Ruthless” still took home a disclosed $500,000. For his title victory, Woodley earned $340,000, which includes a $70,000 win bonus.

Outside of the welterweight championship headliner, the evening's biggest earner was 170-pound vet Jake Ellenberger, who shocked Matt Brown with a body kick knockout in the first round. Ellenberger, who entered the bout 1-5 in his previous six bouts, but made $150,000 for his upset win, which doesn't include his $50,000 “Performance of the Night” bonus.
