UFC Fight Night 114 Bonuses: Ortiz, Morales, Bandenay, Price Pocket $50K
With UFC Fight Night 114 “Pettis vs. Moreno” tying a modern-era record with seven first-round stoppages, it likely was a difficult choice for the promotional brass to narrow the post-fight bonuses to just four fighters. The Ultimate Fighting Championship opted not to award a battle with the “Fight of the Night” honors and instead handed out the bonus money to four fighters who all earned the coveted “Performance of the Night” award.
Dustin Ortiz blew away Hector Sandoval in just 15 seconds, which was the fastest finish in UFC flyweight history. Sandoval charged right at Ortiz, who countered with a blistering right-left to the noggin, dropping his foe. Sandoval had no chance of surviving as Ortiz pounded on him with hammerfists until he was yanked away by the ref.

Peru’s Humberto Bandenay was the biggest underdog of the night and took a fight with Martin Bravo on two weeks’ notice. None of it mattered, though, as Bandenay destroyed Bravos’ equilibrium with a crushing left knee to the head. Bravo fell stiff as a board, with his arms frozen in a defensive posture.
Finally, Niko Price scored an upset of his own when he levelled Alan Jouban in the first. A right to the head wrecked Jouban’s night and when the Louisiana native crumbled against the cage, price tore him to shreds with follow-up punches.
All four fighters pocketed an extra $50K for their triumphs.
