West Coast Fighting Championship will return to the McClellan Conference Center in Sacramento, Calif., on Feb. 28 with three title fights.
In the main event, three-time UFC veteran Ernest Chavez will lock horns with reigning WFC lightweight king Josh Emmett. Emmett defeated Brandon Ricetti in the WFC 12 main event this past November, while Chavez was released by the UFC following consecutive losses to Elias Silverio and Zubaira Tukhugov.
In the evening’s co-headliner, WFC heavyweight champion Dave Huckaba will defend his title against two-time Octagon competitor Jack May. Huckaba is coming off a second round stoppage of C.J. Leveque at WSOF 16. The 6-foot-8 May, meanwhile, was let go by the UFC fter dropping back-to-back fights against Derrick Lewis and Shawn Jordan.
The card’s third title bout pits Team Alpha Male prospect Hector Sandoval against Oscar Ramirez for flyweight gold. Sandoval relinquished his Tachi Palace Fights 125-pound belt on Nov. 6, losing to Willie Gates via first-round TKO at TPF 21. Ramirez last competed at Bellator 125, tapping to a Matt Ramirez armbar in 25 seconds.
