4 NEW MULTI-FIGHT DEALS FOR THE BAMMA LIGHTWEIGHT DIVISION
Feb 9, 2016 Comments
(PRESS RELEASE) – BAMMA is pleased to announce the signing of four
new multi-fight deals in the BAMMA Lightweight division. These
include the resigning of BAMMA Lightweight Champion Martin
Stapleton and BAMMA Lonsdale Champion Marc
Diakiese, and the two new additions being welcomed to the
stacked Lightweight talent pool are Damien ‘Frankenstein’ Lapilus
and Mario
Saeed.
BAMMA Lightweight Champion Martin Stapleton (17-4) hailing from Rochdale and training out of SBG Manchester, finally achieved a career goal when he won the BAMMA Title at BAMMA 23: Night Of Champions last November. Claiming the title to be one of the ‘Real World Titles’ in MMA the popular fighter already has his first defence lined up in the shape of new signee Damien Lapilus.
Lonsdale Champion Marc
Diakiese (8-0) already has his next title defence ahead of him
in the shape of long time rival Kane Mousah.
The explosive lightweight stunned the Dublin crowd in attendance at
BAMMA 22 when he blew through Rick
Selvarajah in his first title defence, with an incredible KO
that just missed out being voted the BAMMA KO of the year 2015.
Damien Lapilus (12-5-1-1) is on a two fight win streak and now gets a shot at the title against Martin Stapleton. The well travelled Frenchman has found a home in BAMMA, after wowing the crowd with a shock 1st round submission victory over the highly touted prospect Jack ‘The Pilgrim’ McGann at BAMMA 25.
Outspoken Lightweight Mario Saeed (8-2) is set to take on ‘Magic’ Myles Price at BAMMA 24 in Dublin at the end of February. The slick Trojan Free Fighter brings with him quite a reputation for backing up his fighting talk on most occasions. Despite getting a reputation as a submission specialist, Saeed has a great all around game and plans on putting that on display in his BAMMA debut at BAMMA 24.
Tickets for BAMMA 24 & 25 are available from bamma.com and you can follow Martin Stapleton, Marc Diakiese, Damien Lapilus & Mario Saeed at @Stapes_50Cal @MarcDiakiese @LapilusDamien @MarioRudeboy7 & @BAMMA.
