Boxing: Undercard Revealed for Crawford-Postol Clash on July 23
Top Rank on Tuesday announced a massive undercard for the junior
welterweight world championship unification bout between Terence
Crawford and Viktor Postol. The event will be televised live on HBO
pay-per-view from MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on July 23
starting at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT.
Gilberto Ramirez (34-0, 24 KOs) will defend his WBO super middleweight title against Dominik Britsch (32-2-1, 11 KOs) in the co-featured bout of the evening. It will be the Mexican’s first title defense since winning it by conquering Arthur Abraham in April.
Preceding the Ramirez-Britsch clash will be Oscar Valdez taking on
Matias Rueda for the vacant WBO featherweight world title. Valdez
(20-0, 17 KOs) represented Mexico in the 2008 and 2012 Olympics and
has looked sensational since turning pro.
Rueda (26-0, 23 KOs) is another in a long line of hard-hitting Argentinean bombers. Already a holder of a regional belt, Rueda wants to cash in on his number-two ranking in the WBO.
Opening the PPV telecast will be a 10-round welterweight clash between Jose Benavidez (24-0, 16 Kos) and Francisco Santana (24-4-1, 12 KOs).
