Dalton to Face ‘TUF 12’ Champ Brookins at BAMMA 28
The British Association of Mixed Martial Arts announced recently
that popular local fighter Decky
Dalton will take on TUF 12 winner Jonathan
Brookins in a featherweight bout. Their collision has been
tacked onto BAMMA 28, which goes down on Feb. 24 at SSY Hydro in
Belfast, Northern Ireland.
Dalton is a wildly popular figure on the Irish MMA scene, and he’s pumped to be facing the biggest name of his career. “The Diamond” has dropped his last two bouts, but he is confident that he’ll turn things around against Brookins, who has suffered three losses in a row and has four losses in five bouts overall.
“It's an honor to share the cage with a former TUF winner and UFC vet,” Dalton said. “But nobody is coming to my hometown and getting the win. Even when I lose people still go to the hospital. So Brookins is in for a long night either way. I belong at the highest level and with BAMMA that is where I am now.”
BAMMA 28 will be anchored by a lightweight bout between Norman Parke and Paul Redmond. Also slated for the bill is Ronnie Mann against Damien Lapilus for the BAMMA featherweight title, while Andy Young will take on Dominique Wooding for the interim BAMMA flyweight strap in the co-feature. There is currently no word on an American television broadcast or on what platform the event will be streamed online.
