Having spent more than a decade as two of the sport’s foremost purveyors of violence, it seemed inevitable that their paths would someday cross.

Former World Extreme Cagefighting champion Carlos Condit will face “The Ultimate Fighter” Season 7 quarterfinalist Matt Brown in the UFC on ABC 1 co-main event this Saturday at Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Little more than bragging rights are at stake, but their long-overdue showdown has nevertheless inspired widespread intrigue among hardcore fans.

As Condit and Brown make their final preparations, a look at some of the numbers that have accompanied them to this point:

36: Years of age for Condit, who was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico on April 26, 1984. The Top 5 songs on Billboard’s Hot 100 list at the time were Phil Collins’ “Against All Odds (Take A Look At Me Now),” Lionel Richie’s “Hello,” Kenny Loggins’ “Footloose,” Thompson Twins’ “Hold Me Now” and Culture Club’s “Miss Me Blind.”

5: Welterweight champions, including Condit, in World Extreme Cagefighting history. Nick Diaz, Shonie Carter, Karo Parisyan and Mike Pyle were the others.

7: Post-fight bonuses banked in Condit’s 17 appearances in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. He has been awarded “Fight of the Night” five times and “Knockout of the Night” twice, resulting in $440,000 of additional income.

17: Seconds needed for Condit to put away Renato Verissimo with knees and punches at Rumble on the Rock 8 on Jan. 20, 2006. One of eight sub-minute stoppage wins on his ledger, it remains the fastest finish of his 44-fight career.

.743: Cumulative winning percentage between the nine men—Martin Kampmann, Georges St. Pierre, Johny Hendricks, Tyron Woodley, Robbie Lawler, Demian Maia, Neil Magny, Alex Oliveira and Michael Chiesa—who have beaten Condit since he joined the UFC roster in 2009. They own a combined record of 202-68-2.

40: Years of age for Brown, who was born on Jan. 10, 1981 in Jamestown, Ohio—a village of less than 2,000 people in the southwestern quadrant of The Buckeye State.

26: Brown appearances as a UFC welterweight, tying him with Thiago Alves for first on the promotion’s all-time list at 170 pounds. He also ranks first in finishes (13) and knockouts (11), second in submission attempts (24), third in wins (15) and significant strike accuracy (.543), fifth in fight night bonuses (six), sixth in knockdowns landed (nine), eighth in total fight time (3:54:23) and 10th in significant strikes landed (892).

3: Sub-minute stoppage wins to Brown’s credit. He punched out Joey Whitt in 39 seconds at Gracie Fighting League “Brawl at the Buckeye” on Feb. 10, 2006, submitted Jason Nickoson with a triangle choke in 51 seconds at Fightfest 8 on Oct. 20, 2006 and cut down Pyle with punches in 29 seconds at UFC Fight Night 26 on Aug. 17, 2013.

14: Brown victories by knockout or technical knockout, accounting for 64% of his career total (22). His long list of victims includes Diego Sanchez, Erick Silva, Mike Swick and Douglas Lima. Brown has six other wins by submission.

267: Combined wins between the 11 men—Maia, Lawler, Hendricks, Donald Cerrone, Jake Ellenberger, Seth Baczynski, Brian Foster, Chris Lytle, Ricardo Almeida, Miguel Baeza and Dong Hyun Kim—who have defeated Brown in UFC competition.
