By The Numbers: Kayla Harrison

She was one of the rocks upon which the Professional Fighters League built its foundation, and thus far, Kayla Harrison has done nothing but reward the organization for its faith in her.

The two-time Olympic gold medalist will put her perfect 8-0 record on the line when she confronts Parana Vale Tudo’s Mariana Morais in the 2021 PFL 3 co-main event on Thursday at the Ocean Casino Resort in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Harrison has finished three of her past four opponents. She last appeared at Invicta Fighting Championships 43 on Nov. 20, when she put away Courtney King with second-round punches.

As Harrison makes final preparations for her showdown with Morais, a look at some of the numbers that have accompanied the decorated judoka to this point:

30: Years of age for Harrison, who was born in Middletown, Ohio, on July 2, 1990. “Days of Thunder,” “Dick Tracy,” “RoboCop 2,” “Total Recall” and “Another 48 Hrs.” were the Top 5 movies at the domestic box office at the time.

3: Harrison victories by submission, accounting for 38% of her career total (eight). Her methods of choice: two armbars and one keylock. Harrison owns three other wins by knockout or technical knockout and two more by decision.

.597: Cumulative winning percentage between the seven women Harrison has defeated. Two of them—Brittney Elkin and Moriel Charneski—currently carry sub-.500 records.

2: Promotions in which Harrison has competed as a professional mixed martial artist. She has gone 7-0 in the Professional Fighters League and 1-0 in Invicta Fighting Championships.

27.32: Miles per hour on Harrison’s fastest punch of the 2019 PFL season. It was the third-fastest punch recorded by Cagenomics during the campaign, trailing only Glaico Franca (33.90) and Viktor Nemkov (30.63).

4: First-round stoppage victories on the Harrison resume. Elkin, Charneski, Morgan Frier and Bobbi Jo Dalziel were the victims.

105: Total strikes by which Harrison outlanded Ultimate Fighting Championship alum Larissa Pacheco in the five-round unanimous decision that brought her the 2019 PFL women’s lightweight title. She connected with 119 strikes against the Brazilian while absorbing just 14 in return.
