Misha Cirkunov will try to put a two-fight losing streak to bed when he battles Wellington Turman in the UFC Fight Night 202 co-headliner on Saturday at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. Neither man can stomach another backward step in the Ultimate Fighting Championship middleweight division.

Cirkunov enters the match having compiled a 6-5 record across 11 appearances inside the Octagon. The Xtreme Couture representative last competed at UFC Fight Night 193, where he wound up on the wrong side of a split verdict against Krzysztof Jotko on Oct. 2. Turman, meanwhile, has lost two of his past three bouts. He has not fought since he eked out a split decision over Sam Alvey at UFC on ESPN 30 in August.

As Cirkumov and Turman make final preparations for their three-round encounter at 185 pounds, a look at some of the numbers that have accompanied them to this point:

34: Years of age for Cirkunov, who was born on Feb. 27, 1987 in Riga, Latvia.

8: Cirkunov wins by submission, accounting for 53% of his career total (15). His methods of choice: two armbars, two arm-triangle chokes, one triangle choke, one neck crank, one guillotine choke and one Peruvian necktie. Cirkunov owns five other wins by knockout or technical knockout and two more by decision.

3: Sub-minute finishes on the Cirkunov resume. He buried Jeff Doyle with punches in 40 seconds at Ringside MMA 5 on Jan. 30, 2010, struck Shawn Pauliuk into submission in 57 seconds at Armageddon Fighting Championships on July 17, 2010 and took care of Ricardeau Francois with punches in 56 seconds at Ultimate Generation Combat 26 on March 4, 2011.

4: UFC appearances in which Cirkunov has executed multiple takedowns. He carries a 3-1 record in those assignments, his aforementioned loss to Jotko—he landed a career-best five takedowns against the Pole—serving as the lone outlier.

137: Combined victories between the seven men—Jotko, Ryan Spann, Johnny Walker, Glover Teixeira, Volkan Oezdemir, Aaron Johnson and Roy Boughton—who have defeated Cirkunov. They sport a cumulative .733 winning percentage (137-50).

25: Years of age for Turman, who was born in Curitiba, Brazil, on July 22, 1996.

7: Turman victories by submission, accounting for 41% of his career total (17). His methods of choice: four rear-naked chokes and three guillotine chokes. Turman holds four other victories by knockout or technical knockout and six more by decision.

26: Seconds needed for Turman to put away Cleiton Butiski with punches at a University of Champions event on Jan. 30, 2016. Having occurred more than six years ago, it remains the fastest finish of his 22-fight career.

30: Rounds completed by Turman as a professional mixed martial artist. He has gone the distance on nine different occasions and has compiled a 6-3 record in those outings.

.750: Cumulative winning percentage between the five men—Bruno Silva, Andrew Sanchez, Karl Roberson, Carlston Harris and Gian Siqueira—who have beaten Turman. They boast a combined record of 78-26. Advertisement
