By The Numbers: UFC Fight Night 206

Ketlen Vieira just added another victory over a former Ultimate Fighting Championship champion to her résumé.

Vieira earned a competitive split-decision triumph against Holly Holm in the UFC Fight Night 206 headliner at the UFC Apex on Saturday night, further cementing her case as a possible title contender at 135 pounds. The victory comes on the heels of a win against Miesha Tate this past November, and with wins in three of her last four Octagon appearances, “Fenomeno” will undoubtedly have her eye on the Julianna Pena-Amanda Nunes rematch this July.

7: Bantamweight wins in UFC competition for Vieira, tying her with Julianna Pena, Alexis Davis and Sara McMann for third most in the history of the division. Only Amanda Nunes (11) and Raquel Pennington (10) have won more.

17: Unofficial media scorecards, of the 19 tracked by MMADecisions.com, that saw the fight in favor of Holm. Michael Bell and Derek Cleary thought otherwise, as each submitted 48-47 scorecards for Vieira.

1-4: Record for Holm in five-round fights that go the distance. Her lone victory came against Irene Aldana, while she has lost to Vieira, Cristiane Justino, Germaine de Randamie and Valentina Shevchenko in 25-minute affairs.

188: Total strikes landed by Holm. By comparison, Vieira landed 122. Holm also held a 96-to-85 advantage in significant strikes.

10:03: Total control time enjoyed by Holm, despite going 0-for-6 on takedowns. Vieira, meanwhile, went 1-for-7 on takedowns and logged just 1:24 of control time. However, Vieira did outland Holm by a 32-to-20 count in significant clinch strikes.

49: Significant head strikes for Vieira. Holm, meanwhile, landed 26.

36: Significant leg strikes for Holm. Vieira landed seven.

5: Consecutive victories for Michel Pereira, tying him with Sean Brady and Muslim Salikhov for the second-longest active winning streak in the welterweight division behind reigning champion Kamaru Usman (15). Pereira defeated Santiago Ponzinibbio via split decision in the co-main event.

215: Combined significant strikes landed by Pereira (110) and Ponzinibbio (105). Pereira outlanded his opponent 24 to 16 in Round 1 and 35 to 34 in Round 2, while Ponzinibbio held a 55-to-51 advantage in Round 3.

42: Significant body strikes for Pereira. By comparison, Ponzinibbio landed 13.

5: Takedowns landed in 10 attempts by Tabatha Ricci in a three-round verdict over Polyana Viana at strawweight. Ricci also enjoyed 9:31 of control time in victory.

126: Total strikes for Viana, who was very active with offense from her back. By comparison, Ricci landed 72 total strikes.

105: Significant strikes landed by Jun Yong Park in a split-decision triumph over Eryk Anders at middleweight. By comparison, Anders landed 65 significant strikes. Park outlanded his foe 25 to 16 in Round 1, 31 to 16 in Round 2 and 49 to 33 in Round 3.

21: Takedowns defended by Park. Anders landed just three of his 24 takedown attempts in the fight.

9: Unofficial media scorecards, of the 11 tracked by MMADecisions.com, that saw the bout in favor of Anders. Judges Sal D’Amato and Anthony Maness viewed the fight differently, submitting 29-28 tallies for Park.

0: Strikes, submissions and takedowns attempted by Parker Porter in a first-round submission loss to Jailton Almeida in a heavyweight matchup. Almeida grounded Porter almost immediately before landing 36 total strikes en route to a fight-ending rear-naked choke.

12: First-round finishes for Almeida in his professional career, including stoppages of Porter and Danilo Marques in UFC competition. “Malhadinho” has finished all 16 of his professional triumphs by knockout, technical knockout or submission.

2: Knockdowns landed by Uros Medic in the second round of his TKO victory against Omar Morales at lightweight. The second of those prompted the stoppage at the 3:05 mark of Round 2.

88: Significant strikes landed by Jonathan Martinez in a three-round verdict over Vince Morales at bantamweight. That figure ranks as the second-most in Martinez’s 10-bout UFC tenure behind the 92 he landed in a decision win over Zviad Lazishvili last October. Morales, meanwhile, landed 51 significant strikes in defeat.

29: Significant leg strikes landed by Martinez. Morales landed just three.

3: Submissions attempted by Chase Hooper in a third-round TKO triumph against Felipe Colares in a preliminary featherweight affair. Hooper has attempted nine submissions in his five-bout promotional tenure and another three in his appearance on Dana White’s Contender Series.

97: Total strikes by which Hooper outlanded Colares. Hooper also held a 60-to-21 advantage in significant strikes.

11:59: Total control time for Sam Hughes in a third-round technical knockout victory over Elise Reed at strawweight. Hughes outlanded her foe 43 to 17 in signfiicant strikes, 130 to 70 in total strikes and was successful on four of seven takedown attempts.
