UFC appearances
In his Octagon debut, Barriault lost via decision to Andrew Sanchez at UFC Fight Night 151. That event took place in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, on May 4, 2019. Jotko, on the other hand, has been with the organization since Dec. 7, 2013 when he decisioned Bruno Santos at UFC Fight Night 33. That was the first of seven wins for him in the UFC.
The Polish middlweight also beat Tor Troeng,
Scott
Askham, Bradley
Scott, Tamdan
McCrory, Thales
Leites and Alen
Amedovski. All of Jotko’s four losses have come in the UFC as
well, against the likes of Magnus
Cedenblad, David
Branch, Uriah Hall
and Brad
Tavares.
Longest winning streak
Both fighters are capable of crafting together a string of victories. Jotko kicked off his pro career with 14 straight wins without a loss, fighting in various promotions. It went on from June 18, 2010 until Dec. 7, 2013 where he lost in his second UFC fight. He would bounce back from that setback by mounting an impressive five-fight winning streak afterwards. Before joining the promotion, Barriault was on an eight-fight winning run. He went undefeated from May 21, 2016 to Sept. 21, 2018, with impressive stoppages and two-division titles (TKO MMA) that would become his ticket to the Octagon.
Wins by knockout
Barriault and Jotko both have power in their hands. The less experienced of the two, Barriault owns eight triumphs by KO or TKO. He started his career with consecutive knockouts of Paul Cressaty and James Kouame (twice). His other victims are Martin Leblanc, Yacine Bandoui, Jonathan Vallee, Brendan Kornberger and Adam Hunter. That makes for a 73 percent knockout rate for the fighter representing Patenaude Martial Arts. While a high percentage of Jotko’s career wins have come via decision, he’s had some solid knockouts, including four in succession. He floored and finished Przemyslaw Truszewski, Shamil Ilyasov, Oskar Slepowronski and Michal Lutka, and later on, Tomasz Kondraciuk and Tamdan McCrory.
Wins by submission
Between the two, only Jotko has scored a submission win. He submitted Fabian Loewke via rear-naked choke at an event called Fight Night Merseburg 5. According to Fightmetric, he’s attempted one submission in the Octagon, and this was on Hall, who eventually finished him in the second round.Losses by stoppage
Three of Jotko’s four losses were by stoppage. As previously stated, he was knocked out by Hall at UFC Fight Night 116, Brad Tavares at UFC on Fox 29 and was submitted by Magnus Cedenblad at UFC Fight Night 41. Meanwhile, Barriault has never been stopped in his 13-fight career, although he has two losses, which were dealt by Sanchez and Jonathan Vallee.Related Articles
