TOTAL NUMBER OF UFC FIGHTS: 8,345
TOTAL NUMBER OF UFC EVENTS: 746

The Ultimate Fighting Championship charged to France for its annual trip to L’hexagone, and the Octagon thrilled the masses for hours and beyond. Fantastic finishes, killer knockouts and slick submissions populated the extraordinarily violent lineup, one that set a handful of event-based records. Nassourdine Imavov, Benoit St. Denis, Axel Sola, William Gomis and Oumar Sy. All five prevailed at night’s end.

This Mindless(ly Wonderful) Violence: Among the 13 fights on the UFC Fight Night 258 billing, 11 of them ended by finish. This ties the record for the most stoppages at a modern UFC fight card.

Cooler than the Other Side of the Pillow: Of those 11 wins inside the distance, nine of them came via strikes. The nine knockouts inside of the Accor Arena set the new UFC record for the most at an event.

Nerd Rage: Both Caio Borralho and Mauricio Ruffy—main and co-main event competitors, respectively—represent the Fighting Nerds camp. While the record of the team had been exceptional as of late, both glasses-sporting gentlemen tasted defeat on Saturday.

Ruffy Recked: Winner of 15 fights as a professional, St. Denis wrangled and submitted Ruffy with an increasingly common face crank. All 15 of the Frenchman’s wins have come before the final horn.

Bye Paul, See You in BKFC: Clobbering Paul Craig with a buzzer-beating elbow, Modestas Bukauskas’ victory forced the Scotsman into retirement. Craig leaves behind a career that maintained a 100% stoppage rate across 17 triumphs, topping names including Magomed Ankalaev, Mauricio Rua and Jamahal Hill over his nearly nine-year tenure with the promotion.

Axel Power: In the third round, France’s Sola pummeled Rhys McKee with a barrage of punches. The 27-year-old newcomer boosted his unbeaten record to 11-0-1, with knockouts accounting for six of his last eight performances.

Bonecrunching Parisian Puncher: Putting his first career defeat in the past, Sy clubbed Brendson Ribeiro with elbows and punches to get the stoppage late in the first round. Now sporting a 75% finish rate, the Parisian 205er posts all but one of his wins inside the distance in Round 1.

He Remembered: Exacting revenge on Marcin Tybura after a 2015 loss to the Polish heavyweight, Ante Delija made his successful debut with the promotion with a first-round knockout. Exactly half of the 35-year-old’s wins have come via KO or TKO.

Lumberjacked: In 3:21, Kaue Fernandes chopped Harry Hardwick down with 10 significant leg kicks. The Nova Uniao trainee becomes one of fewer than 20 athletes to stop a foe with kicks to the leg, with lightweights accounting for more of those finishes than any other division besides light heavyweight.

Tall on Tall: It took Sam Patterson just over three minutes to bust up Trey Waters on the feet to force a standing TKO. The Brit elevated his stoppage rate to 93% with the performance, while registering his fourth first-round finish in a row with the promotion.

Who is Leal: Rinat Fakhretdinov left no doubt by demolishing Andreas Gustafsson in under a minute. This marked his first knockout since joining the UFC roster in 2022, but he has finishes his foe in three-quarters of his pro wins.

She Sampaged: Starting the night off strong, Sam Hughes throttled Shauna Bannon with a rear-naked choke. “Sampage” picked up her first finish in over three years, and in the process pumped her stoppage rate back over 50%.

Never Say Never Again: Coming into UFC Fight Night 258, Ruffy had never been submitted (13 fights); Bolaji Oki (12 fights), Hardwick (17 fights), Waters (10 fights) and Gustafsson (14 fights) had never been knocked out and Bannon had never been finished (eight fights).
