Fighting Championship.
Aldo has held the featherweight championship for a staggering 1,141 days, successfully defending it on five different occasions with wins over Mark Hominick, Kenny Florian, Chad Mendes, Frankie Edgar and Chan Sung Jung. Universally regarded as one of MMA’s top pound-for-pound fighters, the 27-year-old Nova Uniao standout has recorded 16 consecutive victories. He last appeared at UFC 163 in August, when he stopped Jung on fourth-round punches at the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Aldo will defend his title against Ricardo Lamas in the UFC 169 “Cruz vs. Barao” co-main event on Feb. 1 at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J.
