Welterweights Erick Silva, Mike Rhodes Paired for UFC Fight Night in Sao Paulo

A welterweight matchup between Erick Silva and Mike Rhodes has been added to UFC Fight Night “Machida vs. Dollaway.”
The promotion announced the bout on Tuesday. The UFC Fight Night bill takes place Dec. 20 at Jose Correa Arena in Sao Paulo and is headlined by a middleweight showdown between Lyoto Machida and C.B. Dollaway. In the evening’s co-main event, former bantamweight champion Renan Barao squares off against Mitch Gagnon in the evening’s co-main event.
Silva returns to the Octagon for the first time since his third-round technical knockout loss to Matt Brown on May 10. The 30-year-old Brazilian is 4-4 in the Las Vegas-based promotion, alternating wins and losses since his debut at UFC 134.
A member the vaunted Roufusport team, Rhodes is still looking for his first UFC triumph. “Biggie” debuted in the Octagon at UFC on Fox 10, dropping a unanimous decision to George Sullivan in January. He lost a another unanimous decision in his sophomore outing, falling to Robert Whittaker at UFC Fight Night “Te Huna vs. Marquardt” on June 28.
