Late Thursday, sources informed Sherdog.com that Knight (5-0) will be facing off against Marvin Skipper (4-2) at light heavyweight on CES MMA 59. This event will occur at the Twin River Casino in Lincoln, Rhode Island, on Oct. 25. The card will air in its entirety on UFC Fight Pass.
Knight earned a developmental deal after a third-round finish over the previously unbeaten Herdem Alacabek on Season 3, Episode 8 of Dana White's Contender Series. While UFC President Dana White was not ready to give "Nightmare" a full contract, he was interested in the 31-year-old from Connecticut. With five wins since he made his pro debut in May 2018, all five have come by knockout. This opportunity grants Knight a chance to fight in front of a home crowd again, as he previously competed at CES 54 in January, forcing Kevin Haley to tap to strikes.
Skipper has dropped both of his last two, suffering knockout losses at the hands of Contender Series alums Aleksa Camur and Tebaris Gordon. Before those losses, he won each of his first four by stoppage, although between his third and his fourth bouts he took over three years away from the sport.
CES MMA 59 will take place on Oct. 25 at the Twin River Casino in Lincoln, Rhode Island. No other bouts have been officially announced for the card yet.
