BAMMA Lightweight Title - Martin
Stapleton (c) Vs. Damien
Lapilus
The Rampaging Rochdale fighter Martin Stapleton (17-4) claimed the BAMMA Lightweight title at BAMMA 23: Night of Champions, when he dispatched Gavin Sterritt in short order by the way of a submission victory in the 1st round.
Splitting training time between SBG Manchester & his own gym Full Contact Performance Rochdale, Stapleton will be looking to defend his title in style against Damien Lapilus.
Frenchman Damien Lapilus (12-6-1) shocked the crowd in attendance at the Barclaycard Arena at BAMMA 23: Night of Champions, when he locked in a rear naked choke at 3:30 of the 1st Round for the upset victory over Jack McGann. Off the back of that decisive victory, he booked his place as the first challenger to the newly crowned champion Martin Stapleton.
Training out of MMA Factory alongside his brother Taylor Lapilus and Karl Ammossou, Damien trains alongside a wealth of talent that will present Stapleton with a real challenge for his first title defence at BAMMA 25.
