FORMER CRIMSON TIDE STAR EYES V3 GOLD
Feb 1, 2013 Comments
(PRESS RELEASE) -- In 2009, former University of Alabama football
standout, Eryk Anders,
was delivering hits on the gridiron that helped his team win a BCS
national championship ring. On February 16, 2013 at Marathon Music
Works in Nashville, TN, Anders hopes to be delivering hits to his
opponent that will help him win a V3Fights Light Heavyweight
Title.
Anders is currently 8-2 and trains out of Champions Freestyle MMA in Alabama. After helping the Crimson Tide win a national title, Anders played professional football with the Cleveland Browns, the Canadian Football League, and a season of arena ball. When his playing days were done, he still wanted to be an athlete and felt the need to compete. He ran into professional fighter, Walt Harris, and he invited Anders to come give MMA a try. Anders has been hooked ever since. He has been training MMA for about 15 months, and prior to his college playing days, he was a very accomplished high school wrestler.
On February 16, Anders will once again find himself competing on
television, but this time he won’t be playing LSU on the football
field, but fighting a very dangerous opponent in Paul Rainey inside
the V3 cage. When asked about fighting his opponent, here is what
Anders had to say: “I feel I have an advantage in the cardio
department. But he’s a big dude and packs a lot of power and I
definitely have my hands full with him. It’s an honor and a
privilege to be fighting for V3. They put on great shows and I’m
excited. I can’t wait!”
