CES MMA 34 Weigh-ins: Burrell Heavy, Will Fight Champ Curtis in Non-Title Catchweight Bout
CES MMA returns to Foxwoods Resort and Casino on Friday with
another edition of hard-hitting hand-to-hand combat. Headlining
CES
MMA 34 was supposed to be a welterweight champion bout between
the promotion’s titleholder Chris
Curtis as he defended against Nah-Shon
Burrell, but there was a minor fiasco at Thursday’s
weigh-ins.
Burrell came in at 176 for his matchup, nixing his chances to win the 170-pound crown. Both fighters wound up agreeing to meet in a catchweight bout, cancelling all title implications. The main event will still be a five-round affair, though.
AXS TV will televise the main card, which will air live on the network starting at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT.
