By The Numbers: Reinier de Ridder vs. Kiamrian Abbasov



Reinier de Ridder sits near the top of One Championship’s Most Wanted list.

The undefeated two-division titleholder will defend his middleweight crown opposite Kiamrian Abbasov in the One Championship “Full Circle” headliner on Friday at Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore. De Ridder enters the cage with a perfect 14-0 record. He last fought at One on TNT 4, where he laid claim to the promotion’s light heavyweight title with a five-round unanimous decision over Aung La N Sang on April 28. Abbasov, the company’s incumbent welterweight champion, climbs into the cage on the strength of a five-fight winning streak. He last appeared at One Championship “Inside the Matrix 2” on Oct. 30, 2020, when he cut down James Nakashima with fourth-round punches.

As de Reidder and Abbasov make final preparations ahead of their champion-versus-champion showdown at 205 pounds, a look at some of the numbers that have accompanied them to this point:

31: Years of age for de Ridder, who was born on Sept. 7, 1990 in Breda, Netherlands.

9: Submission wins for de Ridder, accounting for 64% of his career total (14). His methods of choice: four rear-naked chokes, two armbars, one triangle choke, one arm-triangle choke and one brabo choke. De Ridder owns three other wins by knockout or technical knockout and two more by decision.
