It was the first five round non-title bout in UFC history, but Mark Munoz made sure that his middleweight tussle with Chris Leben at UFC 138 didn't last nearly that long.

The former national champion wrestler at Oklahoma State bloodied and battered "The Crippler" with his trademark ground and pound assault at the LG Arena in Birmingham, England, on Saturday night. After two rounds, a significant gash had opened above Leben's left eye, and the "Ultimate Fighter 1" alumnus could no longer see well enough to continue safely.

The bout was stopped before the third frame began, allowing Munoz to set his sights on the 185-pound title. Here's a by-the-numbers look at UFC 138, with statistics provided by FightMetric.com.

2: Submission triumphs for Alves in a professional mixed martial arts career that spans 27 fights and more than 10 years. When he made Abedi tap to a rear-naked choke in the first round, it was his first such victory in the UFC. He made Jason Chambers submit to punches at Ironheart Crown 8: "Ethereal" in Hammond, Ind., in 2004.

75: Percentage of victories that have come via submission for Australian Anthony Perosh, who is a 10-time Brazilian jiu-jitsu national champion in his home country. Perosh bested kickboxing specialist Cyrille Diabate with a rear-naked choke in the second round of their light heavyweight affair for his second straight win in the Octagon.

46: Strikes-landed percentage for Diabate against Perosh, well off his career rate of 68 percent.
